I’ve been a bit busy of late organising things and branching out a bit, so I have neglected my blog.

But now I’m back with lots of news. I’m still writing, but I’m doing other writing-releated work too.

Bring a sense of place and atmosphere to your writing

Firstly, I recently ran a writing workshop at @Create98 in Leigh on Sea, and I absolutely loved it and got a lot out of it. In fact I’m bringing the Creative Writing Refresh  back on June 11th. It costs £25, runs from 7pm till 9pm and is in a great venue. For more information and to buy tickets, click here https://create98.co.uk/event/creative-writing-refresh/

I’m also running a new workshop called Bring a Sense of Place at Atmosphere to Your Writing. It’s on May 19th from 7pm till 9pm and you can get more information and book tickets, by clicking below.

As well as that I’ve been busy podcasting. If you are on Substack you can listen to my occasion podcast-ette (my short podcast) called Novelist Chris Penhall chats about Writing and Stuff, in which I read out a passage from one of my novels and explain how and why I wrote it. The most recent of which is New Beginnings at the Little House in the Sun. You can listen to it here:

And then there’s the Chris and Lizzie’s Random Bookish Chats podcast with fellow author, Lizzie Chantree, we chat for 20 minutes about various writing and book related subjects, sometimes on location (a cafe actually). Its on Spotify, Amazon Music and Audible: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7oHSit8azjwDYfZNKPHGrY

I’m also involved in three events at this year’s Essex Book Festival, but I’ll save that for next time!
